Memorial Day

This morning was the annual Jamestown Memorial Day Parade. Caleb and Micah rode the float with Danae and Carly (friend from church and cousin) while my mom and I walked alongside and handed out Little Dipper and Nienhuis Greenhouse coupons. The parade was a full two miles this year and was unbelievably full and busy. We couldn't believe it, and should have had double the candy and coupons. The boys had fun in the parade and couldn't get enough of the tractors, horsies, and trucks. People seemed excited that there is a new ice cream shop in town, so hopefully we were able to drum up some business.

After the parade, our church hosted "Celebrate Community," a festival. It was a big hit again (this is second annual, now...) and hopefully people enjoyed all the festivities. It's fun to see everyone come out for the games, food, music, prizes, and more. Tim and I volunteered and ran into some friends and family we hadn't seen in awhile.

Caleb was completely exhausted after the busy day, but he had the energy to eat some (more!) ice cream before falling asleep on the car ride home.
