Summer Bucket Lists

A friend sent me this Grand Rapids Summer Bucket List for kids, and it got me thinking how summer always flies by, and I often greet September with a list of things I had meant to do during those precious months of June, July, and August. So, in an attempt to make the most of our long, relatively unscheduled summer days and nights, the boys and I did a little writing over breakfast, as we dreamed and schemed about all we want to squeeze in this summer.

In addition to my kids' lists, I'd like to...
  • Run at least 3 times a week.
  • Read two classic books I've never read before.
  • Keep flowers in my yard alive until at least September.
  • Update my boys' baby books.
  • Participate in my ELA department's book club. (Think curriculum.)
  • Visit a farmers market at least once a week, so I can cook with fresh, locally grown veggies!
  • Catch up on my family photo albums.
  • Write and send notes to my students going to Wyld Life camp.
  • Start a daily devotional with my kids.
  • Stash trash bags in the stroller for picking up litter on our walks to the neighborhood park.
  • Post on my blog at least once a week.
  • Read with my kids and participate in the library's summer reading program.
  • Avoid overloading the calendar! Leave empty space.
What are you doing this summer? What did we forget?

  1. The easiest way to add a button is to grab the html from the box and then paste it into an html gadget on your side bar. You can resize by finding the height= and width= words within the html and changing the numbers. Hope that helps!
